Malaysia Teams Up With Binance Founder to Boost Blockchain Plans
Malaysia wants to become a top country in Southeast Asia for blockchain and digital finance. On April 22, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim met with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) to discuss plans to support digital innovation.
Anwar called the meeting “productive” and said Malaysia is serious about using blockchain to improve its economy. He said government agencies like the Securities Commission, Bank Negara Malaysia, and the Ministry of Digital will work together to help make this happen.
Their talks focused on using blockchain for things like tokenizing financial assets and upgrading Malaysia’s financial systems. Anwar said strong government support is key to making these changes work.
CZ also confirmed the meeting and said it was a good discussion. This shows that Malaysia is becoming more important in the global blockchain space.
Anwar said Malaysia wants to lead in the digital world and work with others to build a fair and well-regulated system for digital assets.
Outside Malaysia, CZ is also helping other countries like Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan with their blockchain plans. Binance, the company he started, is working with governments to help them build crypto strategies, including Bitcoin reserves.
